Is there any easy way to import an iWeb blog? iWeb is hanging on me and i’d like to switch to wordpress, but doing that by hand would be pretty hard.

Had to do some digging must admit, never heard of iWeb lol.
As for importing, it depends. It’s not one of the supported sites or formats, so its a case of try your best :)
How does it export the files, if it exports to XML you can export it, and then import it as you would usually. However since its an unsupported format you may have some issues to fix. For example it may only import your posts, leaving out your catgories. In which case you’d need to recategorise everything.
Other than that, saddly its an old by hand job, however unless you have hundreds of posts, just copy and paste them.
Use an offline editor such as Windows Live Writer or w.blogger to help speed up the process aswell.

Actually we don’t have a specific XML importer here at wp.com. Both the wordpress and LiveJorunal imports, while they use an XML format, can’t handle a pure XML file. Folks have tried in the past. Both formats are specialized for the platform in question.

really, oh well, guess you may have to copy and paste then >.<
Shame we cant make a general purpose importer that could take a plain XML file and read properly. What exactly would be needed for that i wounder. Think i’ll go bug my mate, he’s made importers for forums and stuff :)

Well they may have some sort of exporter that is supported here or there’s a way to convert. Hopefully the poster will respond.
