Ixion: Featured Content

  I’ve set up three blogs as “Featured Content” using tag as instructed. However, none shows up on the front page (homepage) below the Site Tagline area. How can I make “Features Content” show up?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there – I checked the theme setup guide here: https://wordpress.com/theme/ixion

  – Create a page.

  – Go to the Customizer’s Static Front Page panel and set “Front page displays” to “A static page.”

  – Select the page created in step one as “Front page,” and choose another page as “Posts page” to display your blog posts.

  I believe it’s the last step you need to complete. Open your Home page and set the page template to “Front page”. Here’s the setting: https://d.pr/i/aljJjS

  Try that and let us know if that doesn’t work for you.

  Hi – Thank you for getting back to me. I think I had done the above three steps alright, but I don’t understand the last step. The setting you sent has an arrow indicating “template”, but my Home page “template” doesn’t have “Front page” setting – it’s got only “default template” and “no sidebar” settings to choose from.

  Then, I accidentally deleted the Home page and when I restored it, it was not set properly as the Home page.

  Should I forget all and start again?

  The setting you sent has an arrow indicating “template”, but my Home page “template” doesn’t have “Front page” setting – it’s got only “default template” and “no sidebar” settings to choose from.

  Ixion only has those two templates you mentioned, so you wouldn’t be able to choose the front page we mentioned above; sorry for the confusion.

  I can see you have a static home page set already; you should now choose a headed image from Customize>Header Image. You will then be able to add a Call to Action Button to it.

  As for the featured image, I can see you have created a tag, but it was not added to any of the posts. So you’ll want to edit the desired posts and add the tag to them too:

  Since your site is private, there’s no need to make all your posts private as well. Until you launch your site, nobody but WordPress.com staff can see your content.
