Ixion Theme – banding on Featured Page Images
-
Hi all,
Im using the Ixion theme (which is great!) but just having a small issue with the way the featured imaged on the three featured pages appear on the front page. Sometimes a get a grey band at the bottom, regardless of the orientation of the picture.

Any ideas?

Hi there!
The gray bar might mean the image is too short, in relation to it’s width. A really wide, short image probably wouldn’t have the correct proportions :)
When I pull up your site, I’m not able to recreate the gray bar, even at different screen widths.
Are you still having trouble, or have you changed the images and resolved it already? :)

Hi @lhawkinsjackson!
I see the gray bar on the bicycle image. That one is a bit short when compared to how wide it is – making a different shape than the box it’s being displayed in.
Using a taller image will work a bit better – the aspect ratio of that box (width to height) is 1.78:1 – the closer your images are to that ratio, the better :)

I figured it out. :-)
If one of the images you use is portrait, it makes all 3 boxes taller and adds a grey band to any that use a landscape image.
Sorted!
