Ixion theme – comment form on mobile view
-
Hi guys,
I found another thing that need to be fixed for Ixion theme. It’s almost same thing like I reported before.
The width of form components, especially for text/email field is wider than the viewport when we check in mobile with 320px width. (Fortunately I still use the old iPhone 5 :P. How old school I am). https://cloudup.com/cJgv39m_TA2I think we can add max-width: 100% on mobile breakpoint for those form components.
Thank you,
Rizqi -
Hi @nizamilputra!
I wasn’t able to recreate this on my end. I don’t have a physical iPhone 5 handy, but using Chrome’s tools, I can simulate that width and everything lines up for me:
https://cloudup.com/cvtu6bgsEiHI’m also seeing the width of those fields as 292px, so they should fit. Can you link to the example where they were cut off? :):

Noticed you said “comment” in your title – your screenshot doesn’t look like a WordPress.com comment form, so I downloaded and installed Ixion on a self hosted site, that comment form still worked for me as well:

Perhaps there’s a variable in our tests that isn’t an exact match.

Hi staff-loquaciousloon,
Did you use private browser (incognito)?
I also use chrome (incognito mode) simulated in iPhone 5. But we need to refresh the page again when you resize from desktop view. https://cloudup.com/cbHDy3mvslL -
Yes – Chrome, private window, refreshed. Is your screenshot from a site I can take a look at?

Still from Hafiz’s blog but different blog post. https://hafiz.blog/2017/03/04/nintendo-switchs-cartridges-taste-horrible/. I can make sure it’s happened to all posts.

There it is, thanks – it happens on WordPress.com sites, and only when signed out (which triggers a different contact form).
Now I see it!
I’ll submit a report with some screenshots, thanks for hunting this down!

That’s what I mean I use private browser :D
Thank you staff-loquaciousloon! I appreciated!

Thanks for helping me spot it! Getting my browser to trigger the different contact form was the key :)
