Ixion Theme – Header Image Size on Home Page

  Can the size of the header image on the Home page be reduced so the user does not have to scroll to see the three Featured Content images?

  Hi there, you can make your header image any height you want. I would suggest creating a new header image that is 1000px wide and then shorter, and then when you go to insert it at Customize > Header Image, skip the cropping and it will be used at the shorter height. If we use CSS to make the image shorter, then it will be narrower than the three images below since we would also be affecting the width of the image. Otherwise the image would be distorted.

  I changed the header image to 1020px wide and 475px tall just to check the result. The image became a little shorter as requested. However, the image is left-justified and there is black space to the right of the image. Is there a way to re-size the container so there is no black space? Or to center-align the image?

  When you inserted the header at Customize > Header Image, did you skip the cropping?

  Hi there, I just set Ixion on my test site, went to Customize > Header Image and set a wide image that was only a couple hundred pixels high and skipped cropping and it shows the shorter header. I tried it in your customizer, with an image that was not very tall, and it worked (I didn’t save and publish it. Can you try again, and if it doesn’t work, can you give me the URL from your media library that has been prepared and uploaded that is shorter? I’m not seeing one. Did you create one with the image editing program on your computer?

  Thank you for trying it with my Customizer. I tried using the same image that you chose. Now I understand that only an image that is +1000px wide but shorter can be used in order to get the result that I had requested. Earlier, I had tried with an image that was 800px wide.

  Ah, yes, it needs to be 1000px wide, but you can use any height.
