Or j’en ai 15. Comme si ma mise à jour ne fonctionnait pas…
    Quelle est la raison ?
    Merci de votre aide

    Cordialement

    Hi Bernard,

Just a note, we provide support primarily in English. I ran your response through Google Translate, but it doesn’t look like “mise en avant” came through with a clear translation. Are you referring to the posts included in your slider on the homepage?

Once I know exactly what you’re looking for, I’ll be able to help more!

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi Jeremy,
No I mean the recent posts which are located on the homepage just below the slider.

    Thks for your help

    Bernard

    Hey Bernard,

Thanks for clarifying! So, based on your previous message, the issue is that you have no control over how many items are featured in that area (currently 15). Is that correct? I just want to make sure I understand the issue entirely.

    Hi Jeremy,
That’s it : how do I manage the posts located on the home page just below the slider ?
    Are they “sticky posts” ?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi Bernard,

That content should be controlled by the “Home – Post Content” area here:

    https://soyonsconfiants.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=themeit_options

By setting a homepage category, you should be able to control what posts appear in that section. However, I’m still digging into exactly what articles are displayed and why. I don’t think this is related to sticky posts.

I’m doing some digging right now, but I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

  • Unknown's avatar

Ah – it looks like you are indeed correct! The content below the slider features a combination of sticky posts and the featured category shown under “Home – Post Content” area here:

    https://soyonsconfiants.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=themeit_options

First, it will first display your sticky posts. Then, after the sticky posts, it will display the posts from the category highlighted in that section.

If there isn’t a category highlighted, it will display your latest posts in order. Does that help to clarify?

    Thks Jeremy,
Can I limit the number of posts in that display ?

  • Unknown's avatar

It seems like you should be able to control this two ways as mentioned by the theme author here:

    http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/topic/recently-added-question?replies=6

However, when I try to do that, it doesn’t seem to be responding. I’m thinking this might be a bug within the theme. I’ll pass it along to our theme developers for a closer look and keep you updated with whatever I find out!

    Thank you Jeremy

    Hi Bernard,

This is a bit tricky to explain, but the theme is working as expected. Let me break it down based on your current homepage section, which has 13 posts although you’ve set 9 under your Theme Options. Here’s a quick diagram:

    http://d.pr/i/1lO4c

If the number of sticky posts on your site is greater than the number you have set to display on your front page under “Home – Post Content” here:

    https://soyonsconfiants.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=themeit_options

You will see that number of sticky posts on your front page. In your current setup, you have 9 specified. Therefore, 9 sticky posts are showing.

Then, the theme looks at any recent posts that aren’t sticky but still fall in the last 9 posts and includes those as well.

So, your homepage post content is set at the following:

9 sticky posts + 4 non-sticky posts in the most recent 9 total published to your site

If you published a new sticky post, “Dans 10 ans, la France sera la locomotive de l’Europe et non l’Allemagne” would get kicked off the front page as it’s currently the 9nth oldest stick post on your site.

Does that help to clarify? I realize it’s a bit confusing!

  • Unknown's avatar

I understand that, in this case, it’s confusing because I have 9 sticky posts which is exactly the same number as the one settled in the “Home page – Post content” (home page post count).
Therefore all my sticky posts are posted + the ones in the most recents which are not “sticky” (so they are not posted twice).
If my “sticky” posts were older ones, then, on the home page, I would find : all my sicky posts (whatever their number) + the 9 most recent posts.
    Is that right ?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yep! That’s a much simpler way to look at it. You’ll always see all of your sticky posts + the number you have set under the Theme Options for Home – Post Content. So, if you had 10 sticky posts and then 2 set under theme options, you would see 12 posts.

    OK.
Thank you so much for your help Jeremy.
Your name sounds like a french one (apart from the double “l” at the end). Do you have some french ancestors ?
    Have a nice day
    Bernard

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve always thought I had French ancestors, but to be honest, I’m not 100% sure! :)

Let me know if you have any additional trouble with the theme!
