Japanese domain name, translation ready, exporting portfolios
-
I am creating a WordPress.com site in English, then am going to create a Japanese version and a German Version of it. For clarification, I only speak English. :-)
1. When I register the domain via WordPress.com, can I create a .jp and a .eu web address?
2. Does picking a translation ready theme do anything for me? The translations will be sent to me and I will copy and paste the Japanese or German into the appropriate pages/posts. Do the translation ready themes getting me better rankings in google.jp?
3. I am currently using the Sketch theme. Almost all of the information is in portfolios–not pages or posts. After I purchase the domains for the German and Japanese site (all sites will be WordPress.com) can I simply export the English site and import it into the Japanese and German site? (I’m not sure if exporting copies over portfolio information; I know it copies pages and posts.) After I have done the import into the German and Japanese sites, will I see an EXACT replica of the English site or do I need to relink files, add missing materials, etc.?
If the above is not possible, does WordPress.com offer the copying of the site over to the new site for a fee?
4. If I change themes to a non-portfolio theme, does the portfolio info become posts or pages? Or do I simply lose all the information?
Thank you for your help!!
