Japanese Fonts
-
Hello,
I’m wondering if there are Japanese font options on WordPress.com other than the standard one. I’m working on a Japanese version of the site, and that font isn’t very attractive.

I’m using the Harmonic theme currenty.
Thanks for your help!

Hi there, you can change the Language of your blog to Japanese in your Site Settings page here (shortcut): https://wordpress.com/settings/general/onbashirafestival.com/
(longcut)
Go to your My Sites page here https://wordpress.com/stats/day/ and then select Switch Site at the top of the left sidebar. Select your site and choose Settings in the left sidebar. On the Settings page, choose ja in the Language section and then save it.
From there, select WP Admin in the left sidebar below Settings and then go to Apperance -> Customize.
http://onbashirafestival.com/wp-admin/customize.phpSelect Fonts and then choose a font that you like in the dropdown for Headings and Base Font. These are free Google Fonts and available to all sites. Additional beautiful fonts from Typekit are included with the WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans.
Let me know if this was not what you were looking for.

In addition to elzrjose’s comment, here are some of the fonts you can use in your custom CSS, in case you want to fine-tune the font style on a site with paid plans:
For each table, see the ones marked with Japanese.

font-family: 'Apple TP', 'Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro', 'ヒラギノ角ゴ Pro W3', メイリオ, Meiryo, 'MS Pゴシック', 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;Here’s another example from Microsoft website:
font-family: Meiryo, Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;Hope that helps!
