Java scripts and upgrade to .me
-
Hi folks,
I’d like to know if I can use Java on my blog when I purchase the lucypireel.me you offer me for 25 a year?
Or will Rafflecopter code and any other Java scripts still not work?
Thanks

Hi there. JavaScript and other code are not allowed on WordPress.com for security reasons. For more info:

So when I buy the .me domain I’ll still not be able to use Java? That’s a bugger. Had I known this when signing up for a WP blog I wouldn’t have done it but used to blog on my domain.

If you absolutely NEED to use Javascript on your WordPress site, you’ll need to host it somewhere else using the free software available at WordPress.org.
The good news is, you can import all of your content can be imported there, and since you’re hosting it yourself (well, really on a third party host), you’ll have more granular control over what you can do with your site. Since WordPress.com is a shared environment, some features, like JavaScript.

Well, Rafflecopter uses Java and as is my Rafflecopter doesn’t show as the graph but as a link, which bugs me to no end.
But if it’s not to be helped I’ll just have to do those posts on my other blog, because If I move my content I will loose all my followers on this blog. Right? -
You can move your subscribers as well as your content to a WordPress.org site. Once you have the new site set up, you’ll need to install the Jetpack plugin, and connect it to your wordpress.com account. Then, you can post a separate thread here in the forum, requesting that the subscribers be moved.

Eeeps, not going that route! A friend of mine did that and actually lost all of her 20K followers.
I’ll just stick to this blog and use my blogger for Java based posts.
Thanks.
