  The javascript uses a lot of memory and freezes the browser. I am using firefox.

  It’s not freezing mine and I’m using FF17. How many add-ons and extensions are you using? You could be experiencing “browser bloat”. I would try disabling them and see what happens when running without them.

  I had to crash the browser a few times. It stop freezing up. It still use memory and CPU time. I have hardly any add-ons.

  Is there a way to use WP without javascript?

  You could disable JavaScript and see what happens. I believe you will find some functions won’t be available.

  The CPU time drops. But the dashboard does not work.

  correction:
  the http://wordpress.com/#!/my-blogs/ does not work.
  the wordpress.com/wp-admin/ works without javascript.
