  I’m trying to add javascript to a section in my wordpress.com website. It’s automatically taking the <script type=”text/javascript> tag out though. Can anyone help?

  Javascript is not supported in wordpress.com read : http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

  As phoxis said we cannot use Google Analytics on wordpress.com blogs. All wordpress.com blogs come equipped with wordpress stats. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/
