Javascript : Really i need 300$ plans for plugins?

hi, I build small applications with javascript that create music or something.
Since I’m just starting out and I wanted to create a basic site just to see how it was going, I didn’t want to pay $ 300 a year right away, which for a private individual is not cheap compared to a company.
I read everywhere that to put your code you need to use plugins with wordpress, which of course you can only have through a premium account.
Are there any other ways? Otherwise I really think I will have to move my site.

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

There is no way round you must upgrade to the Business Plan if you want to use javascript on a WordPress.com website.

ah, then I’ll have to buy a domain and avoid these freemium sites that don’t allow you what is the basis of the web.
Now I understand why the pros don’t recommend WP.
    Thanks anyway.

  • Hi @fdaxel,

WordPress comes in two flavors: WordPress.com, which you have signed up for here, and self-hosted WordPress.org. The latter is the term used for when you install the WordPress open source software onto other servers, such as Pressable, amongst others. Here’s a comparison chart between the two: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

WordPress.com provides managed WordPress hosting, unlike other shared WordPress.org hosts. When it comes to shared hosting, you usually get what you pay for. Here’s a great article on the benefits of managed hosting: https://wordpress.com/blog/2021/05/24/the-best-of-both-worlds-wordpress-com-managed-hosting/

I hope that helps and please reach out again if you have any further questions.
