Jetpack
-
Hi,
I just used Jetpack’s restore function like an hour ago and now suddenly it’s not available anymore. I tried disconnecting and then reconnecting it but now it doesn’t even show the visitor stats. What’s wrong? Did it suddenly change from a more advanced version to a limited free version or something? I thought I’d always had the free version (including the backup&restore function..) Any help on this would be appreciated! Thank you.

Hi there,
It sounds like you are needing help with the Jetpack plugin, but have landed on the support forum for WordPress.com sites instead. Can you please report this issue to Jetpack support by asking here? Thanks!

Actually it won’t let me log in to WordPress.org .. I used to have .com subscription but not anymore and I feel like it’s somehow messing things up with logins and Jetpack..?
Not really sure where else I could get help than here as the .com help chat isn’t available anymore (it only forwards to this forum) and like I said I’m not able to log in to to .org :/ Would greatly appreciate any tips and tricks! Thank you.

Could you confirm the address of the site in question?
I can see you used to have Business plan for zapp.fi, but that expired last December already. The domain seems to be pointing to a site hosted with Amazon now.
I can see it’s connected to your WordPress.com account via Jetpack and I don’t see any issues there.
You’ll want to create a WordPress.org account to be able to post to the Jetpack’s forums. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two independent sites so your credentials from here wouldn’t work there :).I hope that helps :)

Hi,
Thank you for your response! Yes, that’s my site’s address. Jetpack does work but not as it used to. I’m not able to use the backup/restore function anymore and all my stats have been reset (but normally collecting data since – just no history). It says I need to upgrade to access that and various other functions. I suppose that either Jetpack changed their plans or my current Jetpack is somehow falsely pointing to my former .com account.
In case Jetpack came with those features with only .com account I’d assume my access to those features to end last December already and not now..smh.
Anyhow, I’ll create an account to .org to ask the Jetpack team and go on from there. Also, I wish there was a way to separate .org and .com accounts. Now it’s super confusing to be using .com even though I don’t use it anymore and Jetpack forwards to .com. Thank you for your time and assistance! :)

Just to clarify this: Jetpack uses WordPress.com accounts for account management and to access features in Jetpack that would not work without a connection to your WordPress.com account (stats, related posts, backup, etc.) – that’s why you still need a WordPress.com account.
However, if you’re using Jetpack’s restore function, can you let me know the URL of your site so we can get someone from Jetpack in touch via email rather than posting to the free support forum?
Thanks!

Me again! I missed the post above where it says your site is
zapp.fi.I’m not showing that the site has a paid Jetpack plan, so you would not have access to Jetpack’s Backup or restore features and you would need to reach out to Jetpack support on the .org forums as indicated above.
