Jetpack
-
I would like to use a slider, please and thank you. Jetpack seems to be a popular choice, even created and endorsed by WordPress! So why not let us WP users use it??
-
Jetpack does not have a slider in it. Were you maybe thinking of a specific theme instead?

Hmm the video tutorial I’m watching for the Zuki theme says to install the Jetpack plugin to get a slider. Do you know if there is a slider that WP supports?
-
Aha, I see now. It helps to have a little context! The slider in Zuki relies on a code feature called “featured content,” so that’s why they are saying to install the Jetpack plugin. The slider itself is built in to the theme in the case of Zuki. Several themes at WordPress.com have that.
In fact, the Zuki theme itself is available here!
https://wordpress.com/themes/zukiHere is a list of themes at WordPress.com that include a post slider. Note that each theme may implement a slider differently. Some are setup so you have to click to advance the slides and some auto-advance. How each one works will depend on the theme.

I have Zuki activated but can’t seem to figure out how to make a slider work. Is it a widget? Sorry, I’m obviously new at this stuff…

Nevermind, I just figured it out! Thanks!
Great!
This is another good place where you can find info about Zuki if you’re interested or need to look up anything else about how it works: https://wordpress.com/themes/zuki/support/
