Jetpack cannot connect on .net and .info domains

On the same host, Hostgator, I can setup Jetpack on a brand new blog and connect to WordPress.com for all my .com domains.

However when I do the same for a .net or .info domain then I get the following message:

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible

Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [IXR -32300].

i’ve tried all the suggestions on WordPress.org and nothing works.

What now? Please help, or at least tell me if it will be fixed in the future.

  • Just to make sure, you are running Jetpack 1.2.1, correct? This error message is one that we’ve seen other reports of but don’t currently have a fix for. We’ll keep working on it but right now we don’t have a solution for things.
