Jetpack Carousel in IE9
-
I am using jetpack’s carousel, with a 3rd party theme (Spacious), using an IE9 browser. The images are displaying stacked on top of each other and they’re transparent. It doesn’t do this in the Hatch or Twenty Twelve themes with IE9. Can you give me some idea of where to look in the code to make the fix? Is there something I can tell my theme developer to help fix this issue?
Is this something I’d be able to fix with a child theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
We’ve been unable to reproduce your problem in IE9. However, as you describe it, it does sound like a theme-related issue. You asked, “Is there something I can tell my theme developer to help fix this issue?” I recommend you do exactly that. Get in touch with the Spacious developers and see if they can give you some guidance.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much!

I am, of course, in contact with the theme developer :-)
I also have upgraded my IE browser to 11. It seems a bit unwise of MS to prohibit the installation of multiple versions of it’s browsers. Do you know, is there a way to UNinstall 11?
Can you confirm that compatibility with IE9 is indeed a standard to which WordPress themes should universally aspire. Spacious is plugging jetpack as it’s carousel solution.
Here is the problem, described in screenshots. Both the IE9 bug and the IE11 image where jetpack’s carousel works just fine. And here is a link to the site live:

Preview by YahooThanks for taking this on. Do you know what percentage of the global market is still on IE9? The only stats I could find on the web were the W3C School’s – obviously of limited use here – and mine (which features an IE6 visitor, believe it or not (needless to say, they didn’t stick around long)). Has WP published stats recently? Does automatic do that?
Sincerely,
Alison

Bug fixed!
I’d still like to see those IE9 installed user base stats, if you have them.
Thx,

Hey there,
I wanted to drop you a note just to say thank you for following up with us. Much appreciated :)
Regarding IE9 installed user base stats — I think that question is best sent to Microsoft. Any information I can find is via web search, and I question the veracity of the sources.
Thanks again. Let me know if you have any other questions.
