Jetpack "connect…" link redirects to blog homepage with no option to connect
-
On my servers and on 2 of my clients servers, we are having the same problem.
We can not activate Jetpack on new installs of WordPress. Clicking the “Connect to WordPress.com” button just redirects to the blog’s homepage and that is all. There is no prompt to login to WordPress.com and no way to activate Jetpack.
All the affected accounts happen to be on Bluehost.com servers, but support at Bluehost insists it is a WordPress problem and not Bluehost.

I’d like to rule-out a browser-specific case. Would you please try again in Chrome or Firefox?
-
-
The other common factor is all 3 sites have BuddyPress installed. Not sure if there is a conflict now.
-
That’s definitely the next thing I’d try.
Would you mind temporarily deactivating all other plugins, then try the activation again?
-
As soon as I hit deactivate on BuddyPress, this came up and instead of the WordPress dashboard, all I get is this…
Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_site_admin() in /home8/hilltopa/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-links/bp-links-admin.php on line 20
Guess I need to FTP in and remove the folder for the buddypress links plugin.
Is there anyway to reactivate BuddyPress remotely with no access to the dashboard?
-
deleting the BP Links plugin got me back in the dashboard. I’ll deactivate the sub-BP plugins first this time :)

Ok, It is verified on 3 box’s. The newest version of WordPress + The latest BuddyPress =”Broken Jetpack activation”
I can toggle BuddyPress on and off to break/fix Jetpack.

Thank you for reporting this. We are looking into this and I’ll get back to you once I have more information, thanks for your patience!
