Jetpack connection and 500 error on admin page
-
My website http://www.jackalopeandrobin.com has started throwing up a 500 error and when I login to wordpress, it says ‘Please check your Primary Site’s Jetpack connection’ but even my wp-admin page gives the 500 error. I also made sure my domain hasn’t expired (since I’d gotten an email about renewal recently). How can I get back in to manage my site?

It looks like your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. However, I can point you in the right direction.
A 500 error indicates a problem with your hosting server, so you should reach out to your hosting provider (which appears to be iPage) for help here. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the only ones who can help you with this issue.
The “check your Jetpack connection” problem should resolve itself once you resolve the server error. If not and disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack doesn’t fix it, reach out to Jetpack support about this via https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support if you have a paid plan, or https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/ if you do not.
I hope that helps!
