Jetpack connection issues.

I am trying to connect to WordPress from my website, using Jetpack, which I am self-hosting on BlueHost. I installed WordPress with their utility of the same name, which seemed to go fine. However, when I reach the point where I am asked to connect to WordPress.com via Jetpack, I run into some issues.

When I try to connect from the dashboard page, it seems to function as intended; I am given a page that tells me I’m connecting as my account. If I progress, I am brought to a page with plans, and fees. This confuses me greatly; what exactly am I paying for? Jetpack? Although, there is also the free option, but I am confused as to why this page exists in the first place.

I may just be missing something very obvious; it may be that I just need to progress past that screen as well. But, out of my growing confusion, I chose the free plan just to try and progress. That brought me right back to my dashboard, which said I needed to connect… Which I was under the strong assumption that I had just completed.

When I’m attempting to do the connection process from the actual Jetpack tab, I instead get a 404 error from my host.

At this point, I’m hopelessly confused, and I’d love to either get some personalized help, or for the fine folks here to point me in the direction of some resources I can utilize to fix what’s going on.

    Cheers!

    Hi captaincircuitry!

My best bet in trouble shooting your issue is via the Jetpack’s special debug contact form. That’s in your Jetpack Dashboard under Debug. It sends Jetpack support additional details.

Also, upon checking your site circuitbarrel.com is not hosted on WordPress.COM. Your sites is hosted under Bluehost with a software install of WordPress.ORG which means that your question is not applicable to this forum.

It would be better suited for you to ask this question at https://WordPress.org/support/ for a more accurate answer. If you don’t have a WordPress.ORG account you’ll need to create one. Your WordPress.COM account won’t work there.

Also, you can read the differences of WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

You can also learn more about Jetpack here –

Let me know how it goes ok?
