Jetpack CPT vs Post formats
-
I’m developing a WordPress theme. Currently I’m using with jetpack features, like portfolio and testimonials post types. However, I would like to make my theme as light as possible, but “feature rich” at the same time. What I’m thinking about is that maybe I can resolve the portfolio and testimonials with post formats. But at the same time I want to exclude these post formats from the blog index and blog archives. (thinking of pre_get_posts or something similar hook)
Am I allowed to do this if I want to submit this theme later to wp.com?
Currently, portfolio post type doesn’t have a sticky feature, nor the testimonials (like any other CPT). However, I saw there is a jetpack option to select a tag to make it featured. And I would like to make it able to select some of these posts as featured.
Post formats: post, gallery/image, quote – mark as sticky.
Jetpack CPT: post, portfolio, testimonials – featured theme supportThe first option allow users to use their theme without any additional plugin to install.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Can you please confirm that you are requesting help for the URL iamzozo.wordpress.com?
Reading through your post here, it sounds to me that you are actually a developer who is working on a theme that you would like to submit as a WordPress.org theme. Is this what you are referring to?

If so, unfortunately this forum is specifically to help those sites that are hosted here on WordPress.com. Please see here for the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Here is a link to the WordPress.org where you should be able to get some help with your questions: https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/

https://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_DevelopmentAm I allowed to do this if I want to submit this theme later to wp.com?
I checked in with one of the Happiness Engineers about submitting your theme to WordPress.com, and I just wanted to let you know that WordPress.com does not accept submissions, however, you are able to upload your own custom theme if you have a Business Plan with WordPress.com
Hope this helps to answer your question and guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you require further help :)

Hi, thanks for your quick reply! I’m mean WordPress.com, not the .org. But what you mentioned surprised me, didn’t know, that only suggestion are available for themes.
