Jetpack doesn't show my stats history
-
Trying to upgrade http://www.topmmanews.com to Jetpack. When I enable Jetpack, I have no historical stats. If I disable and switch back to wp-stats I see all the historical data.
I was able to install and enable Jetpack on another site (www.pixelens.com) and all my historical stats carried over.
Thanks,
Jason

Howdy,
Could you make sure that WP Stats is disabled before you activate Jetpack?
You might also want to try disabling all of your plugins, and then activating Jetpack first.
Don’t hesitate to contact us again if you need anymore help. :-)

I do see some stats but it’s from March 5th when I first tested. March 6th and 7th are blank and March 9th (today) has a couple hits.
I did just try disabling WP Stats and other plugins first and enabling Jetpack and I get the same thing. Not sure if this is related but Askimet stats have retained their historical data.

macmanx – I disable the WordPress.com Stats plugin then enable Jetpack, then connect it to the wordpress.com site. At this point the earliest stats I see is March 5 and nothing before. We have stats that go back to 2009 using the WordPress.com Stats plugin.

While using the WordPress.com Stats plugin, did you ever change your blog’s URL or domain?
-
macmanx – not that I’m aware of. We did have a glitch (which is why we thought we’d upgrade to Jetpack) when we restored a copy of the live site to a development server and the WordPress API key was running on both for a few days. The WordPress.com Stats plugin is accurately reporting the stats from the live site, however the name that is displayed on the live site under the stats window is that of the dev site. WordPress.com Stats has been disabled on the dev site for about a week now.
I’ve read on other threads that to fix this, we need to disable then delete the WordPress.com Stats plugin and reinstall it on the live site. A little hesitant to do this as we don’t want to lose our previous stats. I do still have the WordPress.com API key for the stats.

Disabling and reinstalling the plugin shouldn’t affect your stats. Your stats are hosted on our servers.

Heh, I know it “shouldn’t” – and I also know nothing is written in stone. I’ll give it a whirl…

Well… did the disable, uninstall, reinstall and get this error message:
“Error from last API Key attempt:
The owner of that API Key (topmmanews) is not on the access list for this blog (33525853). Stats was installed using a different API key. The owner of the original key can add users to the access list, or you can contact WordPress.com support.”

When I install/enable Jetpack I get stats from March 5th when I first tested. March 6th and 7th are blank and March 9th, March 12th have stats but nothing historic.

Did you have Jetpack enabled on the days that you’re missing stats? If Jetpack was disabled, there would have been no way for it to collect stats.
