Jetpack has blocked my IP address
-
my IP address has been blocked by jetpack and preventing me from login to my wordpress. I did followed the 3 methods of unlocking recommended by Jetpack and non of them work. I have requested change of password over 20 times since then and no help at all! What other approach I can use?

I don’t see anything that would be preventing that from working on this end.
To fix that, go to https://wordpress.com/settings/security under the connected WordPress.com account, and then select the site in question.
Click the toggle (that little arrow-ish partial-triangle thing) next to “Prevent and block malicious login attempts,” followed by the “Add to whitelist” button, and save.
If that still isn’t working for you, you might want to start by correcting your password.
This will definitely work https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/#through-phpmyadmin and you’ll find phpMyAdmin in your hosting account’s control panel.
-
That’s the thing I cannot even add my IP onto the whitelist. And worst is my whole website is down for no apparent reasons!
-
Ok my site is back online now. But I am still locked out of my Admin page even I have updated my password.
-
Ok, your site being down is why couldn’t add your IP to the whitelist. Can you do that now?
If not, would you please use https://snipboard.io/ to share a screenshot of what you see when you try to log in?

So my guess is jetpack has not only blocked my IP but it has lost connection with my admin page.
-
Hi Macmanx! Anything that you folks can help me with my problem? I really need to log back into my Admin site and Jetpack seems to be the problem here.
-
The error you see on the login page has nothing to do with Jetpack – if Jetpack protect was blocking you, you’d see an error page specifically saying that.
The error you’re seeing in https://snipboard.io/6GqI3n.jpg comes from the WordPress software itself, and means your site thinks you’re using the wrong credentials.
Please ask the WordPress.org community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ for advice on how to fix that, or contact your hosting provider directly so they can help you reset your admin account credentials.
The error you see in https://snipboard.io/fJxmzB.jpg is because the Jetpack connection to your site appears to be broken, so we’re unable to save any changes you make on WordPress.com’s end. This would also prevent Jetpack Protect from working, which means it’s definitely not Jetpack blocking your login, as right now Jetpack doesn’t even have the access to your site it needs to do that.
Once you’re able to log into WP-Admin again, check that you don’t have any security plugin blocking access to XML-RPC. Also make sure with your host that that service is enabled on your server. Then disconnect and reconnect Jetpack.
-
Ok one last question. How do I disconnect all of my connection with wordpress? I now think it is much better to use Wix or Squarespace because those services never give me this problems before!
-
You can disconnect your site from your WordPress.com account from within the WP-Admin dashboard – click on Jetpack ->Dashboard and find the Manage Connection option at the bottom of the page.
To move your site from your WordPress hosting plan at your current host to another platform, you’ll need to contact support at your hosting provider directly – we have no control over your site itself as it’s not hosted on our servers. Jetpack allows you to manage certain aspects of your site via a WordPress.com username account, but does not give us control over your site or how it works.
-
That’s the thing!
I cannot even log in to my WP-Admin dashboard. And that is the problem I am trying to solve for the past 2 days
-
You need to contact support at your hosting provider for help with that, as I explained above.
The error you’re seeing on your login page has nothing to do with Jetpack – Jetpack cannot currently communicate with your site, so it’s not what’s blocking you from logging in.
