Jetpack Integration

    Hi!

I want to update my companies website, its a pretty straight forward informative website. It does have a few drop down menus and galleries all things I know I can find a theme which would suit my needs and update the look. I know that Jetpack allows you to use all of its features while maintaing your host site, is that applicable for hosts which are not wordpress? If i were to get the business package on jetpack would I be able to keep my host, therefore keep my domain hassle free?

  • Hi there,

I’m not sure I understand this question:

I know that Jetpack allows you to use all of its features while maintaing your host site, is that applicable for hosts which are not wordpress?

“WordPress” is not a host, but the name of the software you’re using. WordPress.com is a host, but if your site is hosted with us, all Jetpack’s features are already built in.

If you’re using the open source version of the WordPress software with another host, then you can use Jetpack to manage your site via a WordPress.com account without changing your hosting, and make use of the various WordPress.com features that Jetpack adds to your site.

As long as you are using the WordPress software, there is no need to switch hosting in order to use Jetpack. The only scenario where that would be necessary is if your hosting provider was actually blocking Jetpack from being installed on their servers, which is very unlikely.

If your site is built with different software than WordPress, or was coded from scratch by a developer, then you won’t be able to use Jetpack or any other WordPress plugin or theme.
