Jetpack ‘No Search Terms recorded’

    Just wondering if anyone would know how to fix jetpack not displaying search terms? I can see the referrers for example google, duduckgo etc but it never displays any search terms? This is my blog.

  • Hi there,

    The reason for this is because the various search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) used to share this data more freely but now they no longer do so, citing privacy concerns. It is sometimes possible to gain insights on search terms people are using to find your site, but this varies by provider. Google, for example, will share search term info if you have a Google Ads account with them, but otherwise do not transmit this data publicly.

    I agree, it was helpful to know these terms, but sadly they are no longer shared with us. That said, if you are trying to optimize your site for search engines, you can consider doing keyword research so you are positioning yourself to show up for certain terms. You can do this using free tools, and we show how to do this in a recent webinar here:
