Jetpack Offline

    Hi there,

I love Jetpack and I’m using nearly every feature of it. The problem is that the design process I do takes into account the look of the widgets and I need to do all my designing behind a firewall. I can’t get jetpack to activate this way since it spits out the error: Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed

Can you enable at least the widgets so I can see what the front-end portion of my site is going to look like before I go live?

    Thanks,

    Matt

Not at this time, but you can dig into the plugin folder and find the widgets code in the modules directory. You should be able to most of the widgets directly by including them in your functions.php file.

Ok, not ideal but maybe I can make a Jetpack Offline plugin with pieces from the original.

I’m already a pretty big cheerleader for JetPack but if you guys had an offline mode where all the front-end pieces become available that would be awesome.

Or maybe you could substitute in a watermark to let us know things aren’t working but still let us place widgets or even see demo data in the stats so we’d know what to expect…..

    Just a thought.

Thanks for your suggestion, that sounds like it would be a nice idea.
