Jetpack on self-hosted blog – post by email pdf attachments and space upgrade

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
Can you please explain the process to allow me to use Jetpack’s Post by Email with pdf (and other non-image) attachments?

I can see your info that says

“If you have purchased the Space Upgrade, then the following additional attachment types will be supported:
Supported audio files (mp3) will be displayed using the WordPress Audio player.
All other files (doc, PDF, etc) will be displayed as links to the attachment.”

but I’m unclear how that works between .com/self-hosted. If I purchase the space upgrade for my wordpress.com account does that mean I can then post pdf attachments by email to my self-hosted blog? If so can I do so multiple self-hosted blogs with Jetpack installed and connected?

    Thanks.

    Thanks Kathryn.

  • Hi there – thanks for your patience while we investigated this. Currently, only image file types are supported as attachments with Jetpack’s Post by Email feature, and no Space Upgrade is required. We’re sorry for the misleading wording on the support page – the text has been updated.

  • Hi there – I just wanted to let you know that Jetpack’s Post by Email feature now supports the following document types:

    pdf
    doc, docx
    pp, ppst, pptx, ppsx
    odt
    xls, xlsx

A space upgrade is not needed to use this feature. If you have any questions, just let us know.
