Jetpack plug in disconnected but can’t install

  • Unknown's avatar

I some how had my jetpack plug in fail, but when I followed the steps to uninstall it, and reinstall it – it says there is still a destination file downloaded. I cannot find it ANYWHERE on my dashboard, and I can’t figure out how to fix it! HELP!

  • Hi there!

You’ll probably need to access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the whole /jetpack/ directory there.

Once that’s done, you’ll be able to reinstall Jetpack normally from Plugins > Add New in your site’s Dashboard.

If you need more help with that, you can find support directly on the Jetpack Forum: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/
