JetPack register_http_request_failed – How do I fix this
-
I’m trying to install Jetpack and I keep getting this
Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. connect() timed out!
wordpress and plugins are up to date.

Please try to disable all other plugins and reactivate Jetpack only. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Theme functions can sometimes interfere like plugins.
Would you please temporarily activate the Twenty Eleven theme and try connecting again?
-
I have lots of custom css and other things done to my Theme. I will have to back all that up first,
Also I installed the Jetpack on my other blog without any problems, It has the same Theme and plugins.
-
Is this blog under the same hosting provider as the working one?
And, please let us know if the theme switch made any difference.
-
Ok so all plugins are off, I activate the Twenty Eleven theme and still got the same message. Still can connect.
also yes the other blog is on the same hosting/

Howdy,
If you have shell access, could you try running this command:
curl -i -L --data 'test' 'https://jetpack.wordpress.com/jetpack.register/1'And send the output to us at support@wordpress.com — we can continue troubleshooting this issue from that email thread.

I contacted my web host and they said that the servers my site were on where under a DoS attack and that they have been moved to a temporarily dedicated IP and that could be the problem, I wait to they get things fixed and try again
