Jetpack setup issue

Good morning. While our production site works fine, I have an internal ‘test’ site that was recently updated and now Jetpack will no longer activate due to it not being able to be connected to. We do not restrict connections to the internet made from the server, but we also do not have this test site publicly reachable.
I still would like to take advantage of Jetpack security on the server if at all possible. Are there any workarounds to getting this ‘set up’?WP.com: Unknown

We can’t help directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we don’t have the ability to take a closer look at your site.
Since you’re using the open-source variant of the WordPress platform, it functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com.
