JETPACK Site stats no longer working

  • Unknown's avatar

I have looked at the FAQ and did not see the answer to my problem. My hosting company says it is a WP problem that my stats are not available. The Stats are not available via JETPACK nor are they available on the Dashboard (at bottom). Both areas used to work. Now neither area does. This is the message I got when I contacted my ISP technician:

    Dear Gillian,

Thank you for contacting Online Support. Based on the information provided, you are having trouble with your WordPress installation. Unfortunately we cannot provide support for the application after installation. You will want to visit WordPress.org to see if this error is common and how it is suggested to fix the error. If you find the error is server caused, then we need information stating so and we may be able to assist further.

Please let us know if we can help you in any other way.

    ================================

I would REALLY appreciate some help. Right now I’m caught between WP and SecureServer (my service provider) and I’m not technically competent enough to know what to do, far less fix the problem.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Cordially,

Do you get any specific error message? Otherwise please try and disable all other plugins to see if they interfere with Jetpack’s behavior. Also make sure you are running the latest Jetpack version.

Thank you for replying. I’m running WP 3.2.1 and installed the JetPack from the Dashboard. The stats came back yesterday for about 1 hour, then my entire site went down– crashed. I called SecureServer.net support. The guy “rebooted” my site. Everything came back except the Site Stats. I disabled Jetpack, reconnected to WP — no stats. Today, I get strange strings in my back end when I try to make a post.

Ex: http://shiftfrequency.com/MNjjL/wp-admin/edit.php [note the funny characters between domain and wp-admin] Then it loads a page saying it’s “embarrassed.” Can’t find my stuff.

It also populates a very strange looking dashboard (sort of “old-timey” with boxes and a different blue color than the standard blue). When I refresh it goes back to the way it’s supposed to look.

If I request a function more than once — e.g. “Add New Post” or “View All Posts”– 1st time, strange corrupted “embarrassed” message, 2nd or sometimes 3rd time, the requested screen loads.

All this is happening since yesterday after the site stats came back, the website crashed, then the tech “re-started” the site.

I will do as you suggest. Disable all the plugins, check the stats after each disable, then re-enable them one by one (assuming I can get that to work).

If you know why this is happening all of a sudden please let me know.

    Thanks again.

    Gillian

  • It looks like your site URLs are set incorrectly.

You’ll have to access your WordPress database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel) and manually change the siteurl and home values.

When you’re done, follow this guide to correctly move WordPress.

If that doesn’t work, please contact the WordPress.org Support Forums.
