Jetpack stat transfer

  I have migrated my blog to a self-hosted WordPress site. I wish to transfer my Jetpack stats from politweet.wordpress.com to politweet.org (the new blog). The WordPress.com username used for the new blog is ‘akn81’.

  Please advise me on any further details that I need to provide.

  The site I need help with is politweet.wordpress.com.

  Hi there,

  If your Jetpack site is under a different WordPress.com username, I’ll need you to please comment here as that username to confirm.

  Hi kokkieh,

  This is to confirm that the username for my self-hosted blog is ‘akn81’. But is it possible to change the username back to ‘politweet’ ? When I installed Jetpack on my blog I didn’t realise how important the username was for migration.

  So what I would like to do then is
  1) change the WordPress.com username for politweet.org from ‘akn81’ to ‘politweet’
  2) migrate the jetpack stats from politweet.wordpress.com to politweet.org

  Is that possible? I couldn’t figure out how to change the username after I installed Jetpack which is why I left it as ‘akn81’

  The username is only important in that we need the site/connection owner’s permission to transfer the data. But the data is tied to the site itself.

  That said, if you’d prefer to use your politweet account instead, log into your site’s dashboard and disconnect Jetpack from there.

  Then make sure you’re logged in as politweet on WordPress.com, and reconnect Jetpack from your site’s dashboard. That should change the owner of the Jetpack connection to your politweet account, and will result in both the Jetpack site and your WordPress.com site being listed in the same account.

  Let me know once you’ve reconnected Jetpack to the politweet account, and I’ll complete the stats migration for you :)

  Hi Kokkieh,

  Thank you for the instructions. I have reconnected Jetpack to the politweet account on politweet.org. Both my WordPress.com blog and my site’s blog show up under ‘My Sites’ so I think everything should be ok? If so please perform the stats migration.
