Jetpack Subscriptions followers

We have a hard time getting the list of followers from the Jetpack blog subscriptions. Is it possible that we can move the subscriptions submissions to our email platform so they can be stored there?

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Can you give some more detail what exactly is giving you trouble?

You can export email-only subscribers on your site as a CSV file at My Site ->Users ->All Users ->Email followers. You can then upload that list to any newsletter/subscription service that allow CSV imports of mailing lists.

But WordPress.com followers cannot be exported – these are people who follow your site in the WordPress.com Reader via a WordPress.com username account. Those subscribers are not necessarily opted in to email notifications for your site, and we don’t give access to their email addresses, only their WordPress.com usernames/display names, under All Users ->Followers.

These followers can only be migrated between sites (i.e. removed from one site and added to another) using Jetpack, and if you move to a different blog subscription service you won’t be able to take them with you.

Getting it from Jetpack is the issue. Exporting the list requires more steps than we want to do weekly. We would the blog subscribers to go into our email platform Pardot – which is where we store the list after it is exported to send out our newsletters. Is there any way to move entries into our email platform?

  • Hi @elenanolanimacorpcom,

Once you’ve exported the CSV file of your followers, and imported it into Pardot, I recommend setting up a new opt-in form for your site so that new subscribers are funnelled into the third-party service. This way, you don’t need to continue to export a CSV file.

If you’re not sure how to setup an opt-in form, I recommend contacting your service provider. I hope that points you in the right direction.
