Jetpack/WordPress site stuck — cannot delete via API
-
My WordPress.com site cannot be deleted and returns the error: “user cannot delete jetpack site via API.”
Jetpack is embedded, and the site is locked. I need the Jetpack connection and site record fully removed so the site/account can be deleted. I am aware that users of my site (serendptstudio.com) do not see this WordPress site, but I see it on my browser every time, and have to use Incognito or a different browser, which is annoying.
Please manually detach and delete the Jetpack site from your system.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your site serendptsudio.com is up and running, however it isn’t hosted on the wordpress.com platform – https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/https://serendptstudio.com

Hi there, thanks for explaining the situation. I am happy to help clarify this for you.
The domain – serendptstudio.com – is not connected to Jetpack and is not hosted with us at WordPress.com (as mentioned earlier), although the domain is registered with us under a different account.
Since the issue does not appear in an incognito window or another browser, this strongly suggests a browser cache issue (stale data stored locally). Please follow our guide here to clear your browser cache, then try visiting your site again in a regular window and let me know if that resolves it.
If you’re looking to delete the site you have with us, here are the steps you can follow: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
And if anything still doesn’t look right after that, please let us know and we’d be happy to help further.
If at some point you’d like to explore moving your site to WordPress.com (so everything from hosting to support is managed in one place), I’d be more than happy to walk you through that.
We offer free migration services with a paid hosting plan, automated backups, 24/7 support, and more. You can learn more about that here: Move to WordPress.com.
