jetpack_post_was_ever_published

Yesterday everything was fine, but today when I went to schedule a post with Jetpack and add a brief description to go with it for Twitter and Facebook, but suddenly I got hit with an error message. It sounds like people have had similar problems, but I couldn’t find anyone talking specifically about an error with this specific text:

Scheduling failed. Sorry, you are not allowed to edit the jetpack_post_was_ever_published custom field.

Similar problems seem to have been fixed by deactivating and reactivating Jetpack, but every set of instructions I’ve found refers to an older version of the site and doesn’t currently work.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

And for reference, I can schedule posts without any description, but once I add even a single word I get the error message. It also looks like despite saying it can’t get scheduled, the post still gets schedule, just without any text in the message box.

  • Good Morning –

Thanks for sharing the specific error message. Double check with the site host and ask them if they have any blocks or limits on your XML-RPC.php file?
