  • Hi there,

Scheduled posts will be triggered by the first visit to your site on or after the exact date and time you set, but if it may not appear if you do not receive a visit at the exact time that the post is scheduled to appear. If the scheduled time has come and gone and your post or page has not been published, you can trigger it log out of WordPress.com and view your blog’s front page, or by visiting in an Incognito window. Your visit should cause the post to appear.

This is required because scheduled posts use “cron jobs.” A cron job is an automated task that runs at a specified time or interval on our servers. This cron job will only trigger on page load (for example, if someone from the public visits your site) so scheduled posts are sometimes published when the site is visited, which can be several minutes or more after the post was scheduled to appear.

However, when the post is published it will show the correct publication date you set, even if the event was triggered by a visit sometime after that. More info about troubleshooting scheduled posts here: https://wordpress.com/support/schedule-a-post-or-page/#troubleshooting

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
