Journalist theme problem adding widgets

    For The Journalist theme v1.9, on the Widgets dashboard page, I tried to add additional widgets to my page, but when I put them in the area called “Sidebar 1” (which was empty), this causes my original sidebar to be replaced by the contents of Sidebar 1.

    By default I would have expected Sidebar 1 to have been populated by the widgets selected by the theme designer.

    How can I add new widgets to the theme’s existing sidebar?

    Every theme has a default sidebar display. They are not actual widgets. To create the widget display you want simply select ALL widgets you want and position them in the positions you want them to display.
