JPG’s disappearing from page

  Like mmerel’s problem from June 19th, but not quite the same.
  Img’s sometimes disappear from the final page. All that’s left is an empty spare-out in the text and the name/extension of the file. Like on this page:

  where an Arno Breker image went missing. (Less than an hour ago it was still there!)
  So I have to open my upload archive and do a reload.

  There’s nothing wrong with the image tags, though. Missing pics remain very visible in the text editor, and also in the Media Library there’s a thumb.
  Yet I’m obliged to check all my posts regularly to see if some went off into space in the meantime, which is a total drag.

  All I can suggest is that the next time an image disappears, leave it the way it is and contact staff directly at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ or post back here in the forums. Since the image isn’t missing right now, I can’t really do much as far as investigating what might be happening.

  Yes, it popped back quite soon after I posted here and today it’s still there…anyway, if the ‘crunching’ in the upload sector fails, it shows: the thumb next to the upload name won’t appear.
  But the data obviously needs ‘something’ to hold the image on the visible page of the weblog. I have no idea what, my knowledge of html and css and the kind is quite limited. I just know what lay-out tags have to look like.

  The bug can be a hell of an article wrecker. I had this post featuring at the end an extensive collage of pictures of politicians caught pointing the moral finger

  and yesterday I saw that most of the separate img bars had vanished. Which took all the fun out of my intentions. So in that case I refuel the uploader hastily.
  But should I discover a new vanisher and of less importance, I’ll keep a daily check on it for a while and see what happens. Thanks, thesacredpath
