  Ever since I joined I’ve wanted to register the blog name julius.wordpress.com but it was taken back in 2005 and the blog still seems inactive. Could I get the opportunity to use the http://julius.wordpress.com blog instead? :)

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  There is no expiration date on blogs unused, reserved or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog via a contact form or commenting, then providing the are agreeable there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.

  If you are not successful, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  Hi,

  You can leave a message on the blog to the owner asking if he would like to transfer the blog address to you.

  He can follow the instructions here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-wordpress-com-user-or-account

  If he doesn’t respond or if he doesn’t want to, then you can’t get the blog name.

  I would suggest that you start a blog with a creative version of the name you want. The name you want is not available on WordPress.com, but you could still choose a name which describes what or who you want to be online. One example, without purchasing a domain upgrade:
  julius mustasch.wordpress.com. Or add a number to such as: 1julius.wordpress.com

  just a thought…

  One solution is to simply add to it: Julius.Says or JuliusSays. I’ve had another blog for years: UncleSammySays.com. I had wanted UncleSam, but it it was taken. The same with UncleSammy, so I added “Says.”

  Please be clear on the fact that what I posted here in my first comment above https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/julius?replies=10#post-2041791 is correct and contacting Staff will not change what I posted there.
