Jump Links

Trying to create jump links from one page to another in WordPress.

    Here’s what I’ve done.

Working in ‘text’ view only, I’ve inserted my origin and destination links. One page is published and one is in draft mode. I’m ‘Previewing’ to ensure I haven’t changed either page’s look and feel. When I update the published page and/or ‘resave the draft page’ WordPress strips the ‘id’ script I’ve added on the destination page, and I’m back to just a link to the the top of the ‘Meet the Writers’ page.

Ex Origin Link – National Chapter (in draft mode)

Ex Destination Link – Meet the Writers (published page being updated)
    <b id=”foley”>Carrie Foley</b>…

Here’s how the link looks in the sentence within ‘text view’
Originally born and raised in Woodinville, WA, <b id=”foley”>CARRIE FOLEY</b> attended high school overseas in Singapore before returning to her hometown to attend the University of Washington….

I’ve updated’ the ‘Meet the Writers’ page and ‘saved as draft’ the National Chapter page. When I do this, I lose the script I’ve added.

Suggestions to make the jump stick?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are referring to page jump links AKA anchor text links and read carefully what you find there.

Example for the origin link is…

Page jump links are for creating list of items at the top of the post and using these jump links means you can allow someone to jump straight to a place on the same page rather than scrolling down and looking.
