JUMP TO:
-
How do I add ‘jump to’ to my blog. I have several towns in a country that I want people to be able to simply read one if they want to so they read the heading then ‘jump to’ a particular area of interest
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks for assisting here @alissonhz. Our forums are crawled quickly by search engines and from an SEO and accessibility standpoint, it’s preferable to add the full link to your replies, like, https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/ Also, tagging a thread with the relevant tags makes it easier to find related topics. Thanks again and cheers!

Hi there!
@justjennifer — No worries! I appreciate you helping here as always!
@lifeoftravel50 — If you ever have any issues, we’ll be here to help! You can start a new thread, here, when you need additional help. I will tag this as Modlook so that Staff could mark this as Resolved.

Hi there, that “here” link would be https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 :)
The original poster of the thread has the option of marking their own thread as resolved, so no need to tag for Staff. Thanks.

I am still having trouble with page jumps. I think it may be because I am using the free website by word press. Does anyone know if these page jumps only work on paid sites? Otherwise I am doing everything it says and it doesn’t work. HELP!!!!

Hi @lifeoftravel50 — This feature should be available to all users on all plans. Make sure you are on the HTML tab when you’re editing to make these changes, so that it’ll work. Let me know if that doesn’t help.

lifeoftravel50, do you need your blog readers to be able to:
1. Jump to different posts about different towns in your blog?
2. Jump to certain sections in the same post?Could you give some more details?
-
Just to add some more details:
You can assign a Category named after a town to each post about a town . Then in your blog sidebar you can add a Category widget…so your readers can click on a particular category and go to a page which lists all the posts about the town.

Hi @advaintin — I’m already taking care of this thread, and yes, he means to jump to different sections. @justjennifer and I have been replying here — please don’t reply to a thread where a volunteer has already been helping a user. Thanks for your help here anyway, and you may wish to check out our volunteering guidelines. Thanks.

@alissonhz these are community support forums where anyone can receive or give help to other users in the WordPress.com community. Additionally one user may understand the question differently than someone else and respond appropriately. Thanks for keeping this in mind moving forward.

@justjennifer — Alright, Thanks — I’ll keep that in mind for next time :)
@advaitin — You’re absolutely welcome! It’s my pleasure to help :)
