Jump To in a Table

    I have a very long table of surnames and dates and would like to use the jump to code within that table. In other words if the surname begins with W, I would like to be able to jump down to the first surname starting with the letter W.

    I have tried embedding the code given in another question within the table, but the code always just pops up above the table.

    Sorry, I am not html literate.

    The “Destination” code should be inside a td tag.
    But it won’t work very well, because the top entry will be hidden by the grey admin-bar. So I’d say better forget the idea: your table isn’t too long, and one can easily scroll down to the right letter.
