Jump/anchor links on same page keep opening up in a new window

  When I set up jump/anchors to jump within the same page, they jump to the correct place but open up every “anchor” in a NEW WINDOW. I have tried every variation of jump/anchor coding on the net (also checked with your article (http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/#jumping-to-an-anchor-on-another-page-or-post) and THE CODING IS CORRECT AND WORKS… however, the link still opens in new window in FireFox and in Explore.
