I can’t seem to create a page jump to a new page. I think I have followed the instructions. Is it because I am using the free version?

  • Hi there,

Can you point me to the specific post/page on your site where you’re trying to add this link, and can you also tell me where exactly you’d like that link to go?

Page jump links don’t work across pages – they’re used to link to a specific section/heading on the current page, by way of a unique id attribute (called an anchor) added to that heading.

In other words, if you’re on mysite.com/page and have a heading with the anchor, heading-3, you can add a page jump link to the menu/table of contents using #heading-3, and it will jump to that heading when clicked. After clicking it, the URL in your browser will be mysite.com/page#heading-3

You can add a link to an anchor on a different page, but then you need to include the full URL when adding the link. For example:

On the page at mysite.com/anotherpage you have a heading with the anchor, heading-2. To link to that from mysite.com/page, you need to add the link URL as mysite.com/anotherpage#heading-2.

If you just try adding #heading-2, it won’t work, as that tells your browser to look for the heading-2 anchor on the current page, not on a different page.

    Does that explanation help?
