just a heads up

Hello WordPress Support, I’ve recently noticed that outbound cURL requests from my site began failing around the same time a new human‑verification step (simple math problem) was introduced. While I can complete the challenge in a browser, automated server‑to‑server requests cannot. I wanted to flag this in case it helps your team connect the timing and investigate whether the verification layer is affecting API calls or plugin updates.

  • Hi @rrr742765,

    Thanks for reaching out.

A quick note: this forum is intended for WordPress.com users, and it looks like your site is self-hosted. For support specific to Jetpack on self-hosted setups, we encourage you to reach out directly via the Jetpack support portal: https://jetpack.com/contact-support/

From your description, it sounds like you may be referring to Jetpack Protect’s math verification during login.

To help us investigate, could you provide more details, like specific error messages or screenshots, while submitting your ticket using the Jetpack support portal above?

We look forward to your update and resolving this with you!

    Best,

Hi, my WordPress Site Health shows this error: cURL error 7: Failed to connect to http://www.brmicke.com port 443: Connection refused

The site loads fine in a browser (SSL padlock is present), but WordPress itself cannot connect to its own REST API or complete loopback requests.

Could you please check if the server firewall or outbound cURL requests to my own domain are being blocked, and adjust settings so WordPress can complete REST API and loopback requests?
