Just bought a GoDaddy domain name

My blog is completelykamilahblog.wordpress.com and I just bought a Go Daddy domain name to change it to completelykamilah.co.uk.
I’m not very tech savvy with this sort of thing and a bit confused as to ‘hosting’ etc. When I type completelykamilah.co.uk into the web address bar, it goes to my old blog address completelykamilahblog.wordpress.com. The transfer has obviously worked but the Go Daddy advisor explained to me that the reason it does this is due to ‘hosting’ or something and i would need to speak to wordpress about it. Please can you explain what I have to do to get my web address to be just completelykamilah.co.uk? Does this also mean I will need to carry on paying £12 a year with GoDaddy if I buy a wordpress domain name to change it?

WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible. http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/ The domain or mapping of any existing domain URL is included in the pricing for a personal upgrade, a premium and a business upgrade.

There are no trial upgrades, monthly payment plans and no bulk deal upgrades. We are billed annually.We must pay for all upgrades in full at the time of purchase. Each upgrade bundle applies to a single blog only and is for a single year only when it is due to be renewed. The only exceptions are one time upgrades for premium themes and guided transfers.
