just bought a mapped domain and advertising appeared

  hi! I bought a mapped domain for my blog, which I have been running for a few months. The thing that suprised me it’s that there was no advertising at all before and now that I have paid to have the domain for one year advertising suddenly appeared. is that normal?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It’s not supposed to be cause and effect, although some people have reported something similar. WP.com is running ads on our blogs all the time; we just don’t see them, because they aren’t normally displayed to people who are signed in.

  It might suddenly surface because of a DNS issue, ie you don’t appear to be signed in momentarily when you have a new domain name. I’m just speculating there, though.

  Hello there,
  WordPress.com has been displaying advertising on all their free hosted blogs since 2006, except those with No-Ads upgrades. As they do not display to us when we are signed in you may not have noticed them previously. The ToS section 9 that we agree to in order to get a blog states this, the features page states this, and so does the advertising entry in the support documentation but many bloggers do not read these. The bottom line is that if you do not wish to have advertising displaying on your blog you will have to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.
