Just bought a new theme…

So let me get this straight: I pay you $69 for a theme and the only way I can make basic changes to the layout of a post it is to pay you ANOTHER $99 a year? Are you serious? How do I get my money back and where do I send the invoice for the time I just wasted?

  • I’m sorry to hear that WordPress.com didn’t work out for you.

I have processed that refund for you. Please be aware that it can take up to 7-10 business days for refunds to show up on your statement.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

I don’t believe I asked you for a refund. I asked you for a process and clarity on why a purchased theme is restricted. Please reinstate the theme and cancel the refund and answer the question. Thank you

ARE YOU KIDDING? You pulled the theme? I spent two days reformatting my blog for this new theme and you pulled it? Please reset the blog to how it looked at midnight on December 28th and answer my question.

  • How do I get my money back

If it was not a refund request, I apologize for the confusion. But typically when someone asks for their money back, they are asking for a refund.

Repurchasing the theme will return it to your site. That having been said, you will still need to Custom Design upgrade (which is part of the $99 WordPress.com Premium upgrade) if you are looking to make CSS changes.

It may be that a self-hosted WordPress site using the software from WordPress.org is a better bet for your site. There are many more theme options and unlimited CSS editing with no upgrades required. WordPress.com has many advantages, but it is also not the solution for every site.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  • Just to try and create a bit of holiday cheer, I’ve added some credits to your WordPress.com account to ease the repurchase of that theme if you decide to stick with WordPress.com.
