Just bought the domain, not showing up,
-
Hey guys,
I just bought the domain mapping and registration for my blog to cut out the ‘wordpress’ part, my transaction has been approved but the blog is not showing up under http://www.policyonpoint.com, is there a lag time there that I should know about or should I start getting angry?
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It can take 24 to 72 hours for things to migrate across the internet – but changes typically start in under 24 hours – you can also have issues with local cache’s

Also, don’t forget to set your new domain as primary from Upgrades -> Domains in your Dashboard.

I bought a domain with godaddy on March 1st, immediately reset the nameservers to Worpress.com and the option to add a domain is not showing up under my domains tab in my dashboard. Help?

This is part of the problem today:

You can also contact the staff through your dashboard for more information. I think this has to do with the DDos attacks over the last few days.

How do I use the email that I set up with godaddy? I can’t seem to get the information I need. I know that I need to change the MX records in the WordPress servers (Custom DNS), but I can’t figure out what to change them to. Specific examples applicable to godaddy would help. Also, do I need to change any CNAME settings in the custom DNS?
I’ve redirected the domain name just fine, but I can’t access godaddy’s email now that I’ve done the redirect. Help appreciated!

This support document explains how to set up things through Google Apps for Webmasters to maintain your email address.

Dear thesacredpath,
Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, I’m not using google apps. I am administering with the godaddy tools. My domain is with godaddy, not google apps.
Here’s my latest attempt to solve the problem:
Stop the redirect, to get email working.
Look at the servers being used by godaddy, and the MX records.
Then translate those to wordpress. I hope this works.-Tony

You can’t do it through Godaddy’s administering tools. You have to do it through Google apps. Your email address will still be the same as you set up originally, but Google will handle the aliasing of it. All of your emails will have your original email address, both receiving and sending, but here at wordpress.COM you have to do the it through Google Apps.

OK. Thank you. I got that working.
I think there would have been a way to do this with the godaddy domain directly, but Google Apps has nice features. Thanks for pointing that out.
(I think adding these to my DNS server commands would have done that:
MX 10 mailstore1.secureserver.net.
MX 0 smtp.secureserver.net.I think I had the wrong commnds).
