Hello. I want to have the free account which I thought I signed up for but it is asking me for $
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi there,
In our site creation flow you are offered a few options that are not free, such as a custom site address, but if you pick a WordPress.com site address (instead of a custom address) and choose the free option when you see our plans page, you will have a free site at the end.
