just making sure I won't be violating terms
-
Hi everyone,
I’m about to set up a site for a friend, and wanted to make sure I won’t be violating the terms of service. The main purpose of the site will be to promote her book, which is available on Amazon, and I will have a link to it from this site. Before I set this up, I want to make sure this won’t violate the terms. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
No worries. It sounds like you just need a landing page for the book, and that’s no problem.
Let me know if you have any other questions about getting started.

Thanks. Okay, so I have the site set up, but can’t figure out the editor. It’s been years since I used the editor, and when I did, it was a simple text box that was easy to navigate. Now, when I use the commands I’m familiar with to edit pages, it selects blocks, which I don’t quite know what to do with. All I want to do is delete the sample text and put in my own.

Of what site are you speaking? http://theradiocrytic.wordpress.com/ is set to use the original editor for your account, not the block editor.
You can find a detailed overview of how the block editor works here:
Provided you’re not using one of our new themes specifically designed for the block editor, you can also switch back to the classic editor – details in the FAQ section of that support page.

This is the account in question, and I don’t have the option of switching to classic editor.

Ah, thanks! That did what I wanted, but now I’ve got two minor problems before I actually put this thing live.
1. I created the Contact Me page in the classic editor, but then couldn’t figure out how to actually insert the form that way, so switched back to the block editor and figured it out that way. However, it won’t show up in my site’s navigation, despite it appearing to be published.
2. I’m not sure if this is an issue with the fact that I created the page in the classic editor then tried to edit it in the block editor, but the link on the homepage isn’t showing as a clickable link, it’s displaying the code. Just getting these fixed and the picture of the cover of the book and this site will be ready to go. -

Your site has a custom menu set up, and new pages you add don’t get added to a custom menu automatically, you need to do it manually. You can edit your menu from the Customizer. Detailed steps here:

The HTML for that link was completely messed up, so I’ve gone ahead and fixed it for you. The link is clickable now.
But this likely happened because we switched you to the classic editor. The Hever theme on your site is specifically designed for the block editor, which is why you wouldn’t have seen the option to switch to the classic editor yourself.
If you want to use the classic editor, I recommend you switch to one of our older themes – go to My Site ->Design ->Themes, scroll down the list, and click the Load all themes button to see our themes that aren’t specifically created for the block editor.
